Choosing the Right Cable
Start with the ports on your source device and display, then check the resolution and refresh rate you need. HDMI is common on TVs, game consoles and AV equipment, while DisplayPort is common on PCs and monitors. Choose a cable whose connector type, protocol version and performance rating match the complete setup.
No. The same connector shape can support different protocols and performance levels. USB-C is a common example: a USB-C port may support charging and data but not video or Thunderbolt. Always check the port specification on both devices and the product page before ordering.

No. Many video cables, active adapters and fiber-optic cables are directional. Check the product title, Source/Display markings, arrows, or the stated input and output direction before purchase and installation.
HDMI Cables
They represent different generations and possible bandwidth or feature levels. MOSHOU currently offers products rated up to 18Gbps, 48Gbps and 96Gbps depending on the model. The actual resolution, refresh rate and features you can use are limited by the weakest device, port, cable, adapter or switch in the complete signal chain.
Selected MOSHOU HDMI products are rated for high-resolution and high-refresh-rate formats such as 4K120 and 8K60, and selected HDMI 2.2 products list even higher maximum formats. These are maximum product ratings, not a guarantee for every setup. Your source, display, ports, settings and every device in the chain must also support the target format.
Copper HDMI cables are common for short and medium runs. Fiber-optic or AOC HDMI cables are useful for longer-distance installations because the signal is converted for optical transmission. Many optical HDMI cables are directional, so connect the Source end and Display end correctly.
Mini HDMI and Micro HDMI are smaller HDMI connector formats used on selected cameras, tablets and compact devices. They are physically different from standard HDMI. Confirm whether your device uses standard HDMI, Mini HDMI or Micro HDMI before ordering.
ARC and eARC carry audio from a compatible TV or display back to compatible audio equipment over HDMI. Support depends on the ports and devices as well as the cable. Use the specific ARC/eARC port on the equipment and check the product page for the cable's listed support.
Yes when the extension or adapter is rated for the target signal, but every extra connection becomes part of the signal chain. For demanding formats, keep the chain as simple as possible and make sure every cable and adapter is rated for the required bandwidth.
DisplayPort Cables
They support different maximum link capabilities and feature sets. MOSHOU sells DisplayPort products across these generations, including models rated up to 80Gbps. Your actual output is limited by the source GPU, display, ports, cable or adapter, operating system and display settings.
Mini DisplayPort uses a smaller physical connector. It can carry DisplayPort signals on compatible devices, but the connector and device capabilities must match. Check the exact port on your computer or display before selecting Mini DisplayPort-to-DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI products.
Selected DisplayPort MST hubs can send one compatible DisplayPort source to multiple displays. MST support depends on the GPU, operating system, source port, hub and requested monitor configuration. Check the product page and your computer's MST support before purchase.
The refresh rate is determined by the complete connection chain. GPU output, display input, port version, resolution, color settings, compression support, adapters, docks and operating-system settings can all reduce the maximum available refresh rate.
Adapters & Signal Direction
No. They are different signal directions and are not automatically interchangeable. A DisplayPort-to-HDMI product is designed for a DisplayPort source and HDMI display. HDMI-to-DisplayPort conversion can require active electronics and external USB power. Always follow the input/output direction shown on the product page.
Check which side the connected cable must exit when the adapter is installed in your device. 90-degree and 270-degree orientations are different, and port orientation can vary by device. Compare the product images with your device before ordering.
A male-to-female adapter plugs directly into an HDMI port and provides a female socket for another cable. A female-to-female coupler joins two male HDMI cables. Confirm the connector gender needed on both sides of your setup.
No. An adapter can convert connector or signal formats, but it cannot create capabilities that the source or display does not support. Final performance is limited by the weakest part of the complete connection chain.
Switches, Splitters & Multi-Display
A switch selects between multiple sources or, on selected bidirectional models, routes one connection between supported ports. A splitter duplicates or distributes a source signal to multiple outputs. These products solve different connection needs, so check the input/output layout before purchase.
Selected MOSHOU bidirectional HDMI switches are designed for either two sources to one display or one source to one of two displays. Bidirectional switching does not necessarily mean simultaneous duplication to both displays; check the exact product description for operating mode.
It depends on the product and source technology. DisplayPort MST can support extended desktops on compatible systems, while many simple HDMI splitters duplicate the same image. Check the product type and your operating system and GPU capabilities.
Audio Cables
Toslink is a dedicated digital optical audio connection used on many TVs, soundbars, receivers and audio devices. HDMI ARC/eARC combines audio return with HDMI connectivity and can support different audio capabilities depending on the equipment. Use the connection supported by both your source and audio device.
Confirm that the USB-C source device supports USB digital audio output and that the receiving device has a Toslink optical input. USB-C connector shape alone does not guarantee every audio or video function.
XLR cables are commonly used with microphones, mixers, audio interfaces, powered speakers and other professional or studio audio equipment. Confirm that both devices use compatible XLR connections and that you need the male-to-female direction shown on the product.
USB-C, Thunderbolt & Data
No. USB-C describes the connector shape, not the complete feature set. A USB-C port may support different USB data speeds, charging levels, DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt features. Check the computer or device specification before choosing a Thunderbolt or USB-C cable.
Selected MOSHOU USB-C and Thunderbolt products support high-power charging as listed on the product page. The actual charging power is limited by the charger, cable, device and supported charging protocol.
Only when the extension is designed and rated for the required data, video and power specifications. Extensions add another connection to the chain, so use a product whose listed capabilities meet your target setup.
Bandwidth, Resolution & Troubleshooting
Common causes include incorrect signal direction, a loose connection, an unsupported resolution or refresh rate, insufficient bandwidth somewhere in the chain, an unpowered active adapter, or compatibility issues with a dock, switch or display. Reconnect both ends, verify direction, remove unnecessary adapters, and test at a lower resolution or refresh rate.
Higher refresh rates and resolutions require more link bandwidth and compatible hardware. Confirm that the source port, display input, cable, adapters or switches and device settings all support the target mode. One lower-spec component can limit the entire connection.
It can. Higher-bandwidth electrical signals become more demanding over longer cable runs. For long-distance installations, use a cable technology and length specifically rated for the target signal; optical HDMI or DisplayPort products are often chosen for longer runs.
1) Confirm source and display ports and signal direction. 2) Connect the cable directly without docks or extra adapters when possible. 3) Restart the source and display. 4) Lower resolution or refresh rate for testing. 5) Update graphics drivers or device firmware. 6) Test another compatible port or display. If the issue remains, contact MOSHOU with your device models and connection diagram.
Orders, Returns & Support
Orders are usually processed within 1–3 business days after payment confirmation. Delivery time depends on destination and carrier service.
A return request may be submitted within 30 days after receipt, subject to the MOSHOU Returns & Refunds Policy and product condition requirements.
Eligible MOSHOU products include a 12-month limited warranty unless the product page, warranty policy or applicable law states otherwise.
